Probably...but she didnt dare take vegetables even when alone..i wasnt around all the time..
Thank you..i hope so, too.. I will daily..the vet said 790g, thats alright..she aint too big nor too small for female.

And if anybody is planing on something like this despite all the experience..if you adopt from normal people or the ones who at least a little care its much better than some adult woman(!!??around 40) writing on facebook i will get rid of the pig..lol..i mean..the vet said to report her. I wont report anyone...i dont have time or interest for this stuff.

One of the things that happens often when you handle and care for a guinea pig is the slow buildup of trust. I never felt any of my guinea pigs "liked" me but recognized they trusted me.

I believe this will happen and you will have a new relationship with Winnie.

Yeah.. we always had gang/family vibe w my animals..very strong connection..like&trust and all else, too..

But i agree..she ll need much more time to open up and trust me..it seems she s out of the worst..she s eating on her own a little bit.

Thanks for an answer as always..:)

You never know what happened to her in the previous environment. Maybe they fed her to get her to come out so they could grab her. That would terrify a guinea pig. She would be afraid to eat, even when hungry. (We’ve had rescue dogs like that and it takes a long time to gain their trust.)

If she likes the Critical Care, will she eat it from a dish? That would be a step in the right direction.

I think they were just grabbing her all over and didnt care. Some kids doesnt have feeling or self control.
She s eating some hay in the house at least..and comes to eat vegetables if i close the door.
I talk to her calmly or encouraging.. She s from the ghetto-to put it simple..

I look at it as unexpected bonus rescue. We tried to do something good, when it would be okay from me to stop having pigs also, cause glory days are behind-i wont have a lot of animals anymore, for sure. And she s lucky cause i wouldnt do that again now.. I am happy the way she s improving ..for now that she s eating..so we are removing forcefeding slowly. She doesn t wanna take it from dish(CC). I will see if she will stay or not till march next year, cause i have tons of things to do..and we will see how it will all get through..

i respect you for having rescue dogs, i saw how much work you need tpput into it..but i ll get pedigree border collie if i ever get dog again from same lines as Ringo..And you cant compare how much more and different work you need to put in rescue dog.Really. And yet even if same breed they can hardly work ever on the same level..

Hope Charlie is doing okay??

I agree as far as rescues go. I’ve had several now and they have pretty much worn me down. So many health and behavior problems and too little enjoyment.

Charlie is hanging in there. Multiple health issues and meds for his heart and thyroid, prescription food for digestion and pancreatitis, and restricted use of stairs due to occasional back pain. And he’s still a crabby old guy who needs to be muzzled for vet visits and grooming. He needs a trim again so I will have a wrestling match on my hands.

Its great to read he s still going strong! I wish him the best and more!

When Ringo had multiple issues(due to old age; back, eyes, kidneys,..) we had meetings with vets regarding his medications and stuff and once they said we re gonna do everything and you will, but we dont have the pill to keep him forever. ;)

It’s amazing what they can do for pets. So many more treatment options to help them feel better as they age.

Update on Winnie(i will open her own topic), since she s at home now.:)
We still have problems..i tried give her more peace, but it didnt really work..she still doesnt eat pellets and a little bit of hay only when she s in the mood...she got excited for vegetables..i gave her bit of fresh grass with salad..i dont know i didnt think it was too much, but it seems it was for her(it was quite little), she s not pooping. Urinating normally.
Last time she pooped was 9.00in the morning now i am at work. I wanted give her more space and remove forcefeding to three times daily..but it didnt really work out...and shes really going for it now..she seems hungry. Doesnt wanna drink from water botle..so we gave her water in the bowl.

Is it ok if she s not pooping to keep on giving her cc, right? Can i do anything more..i ll put her on the floor so she will move around if it wont work otherwise.

I hope she is now and i will see her when i come home.
Little trouble is Winnie..but i hope..she will make it .. i ll do everything she ll act happy and confident and healthy..but we re far from it.
It was huge shock for her that she came to us and i understand her and so does Ziggy..she s just avoiding her.
She had overgrown nails very and we trimmed it..we go slowly..i dont wanna like annoy her all the time..really i dont..i was so happy when i heared at night she was moving around the cage, finally.
I hope she will started pooping again...tomorrow she s finally moving to larger(huge) cage..

Sounds like you are aware of the main danger of not pooping (a blockage) and also know that sometimes they even eat their own poops. I imagine you will keep a close eye on her.

Are you weighing her daily?

Maybe, she did eat them..I ve seen a few in the evening, luckily.. !!

I dont every day, but i will from now on, thank you..becuse she still doesnt eat enough..

I am so sorry she is so distraught..she doesnt even find comfort in being held..but she likes her wooden house she got from Irie, salad and chamomelie taste of hay.. maybe some of you saw pigs like this, but i never did, before..the kids seems to ruin life for her,..hope we can get some of her happiness back..slowly..and we trew mealworms we ordred out of panic in neigbours bush for birds to eat:)..she wont eat that again..
