Surplus Guinea Pigs

The idea you could use perhaps a herd of guinea pigs for weed removal (vs. goats) sure made it sound weird. Not happy about bringing the idea of eating guinea pigs into the picture.
The writer does not sound like she has ever owned a guinea pig. Sometimes "tongue-in-cheek" stuff is taken at face value and perhaps not appropriate.

I don't see how you can use guinea pigs for weed removal. They're not working animals in that sense. Goats can eat anything and in much greater quantity. Guinea pigs can only eat certain forages. Goats are also less vulnerable to predators than guinea pigs. Actually, I don't see any other use for guinea pigs other than loving pets to be nurtured and cared for. They are comfort animals who provide so much to those of us who appreciate them. Using them for anything else is abuse as far as I'm concerned.
