Win, Zig and I were outside having fun yesterday and moments like this make life worth living..

It seems bactrim is not helping at all clearing uti.
Her urine is still reddish and smelly sometimes.
We will took sample on dog clinic so we will see if i think correctly. Tomorrow i took a day off work(i do my best not to get too stressed out doing all things i have to do this year) and will report results to you.
She is on 8th day of bact rim..she will be on it 14 days and if it not helping and results are the same this is it.
We will than try 14days of shilintong -i didnt wanna bother her with 3 things at once.. and take another time for results on dog clinic.
If it will be good than-great if it wont clear it, we will go to exotic vet for x-ray and ultrasound-without sedation, without stress just to check it.

Her legs are bit red but not too bad..
Her uri sounds arent too hearable at the moment, luckily
She likes fleece bedding..so we do our best to make it work somehow.
Otherwise she s in good shape and hope she will keep on having fun.

And cause i do feel bit defeated here working in the afternoon hoping Win is okay at home..zig of course is..
I will share with you this Bob Marley quote: One your way up pull me up on your way down never let me down..
and the one John Lennon said. Everything will be okay in the end if its not okay, this is not the end. and you have to be bastard to make it and The Beatles were the biggest bastards in the world.

And i am pushing all kind of music in to my ears so that is giving me attitude all will be okay..and we will sort it all out.

I am really sorry to hear the Bactrim is not working. Generally speaking, it does a really good job of clearing UTIs. Has the bacteria ever been cultured to figure out what antibiotics would work?

Thank you!

No..cause with Irie- he could just do anything - we tried that he urinated in cup directly and dog vet sent it in lab for culture but it didnt work ... bacteria found wasnt urinary but from contamination.
Right way is to stick needle in bladder but thats too invasive for us so we wont culture bacteria .

Dog vet said there is a lot less coccus and bactrim is working altough slower than it sjould, but she said its not unusual.
She has another week of bactrim than shilintong than another urine check w same dog vet-(7.7) she said than you will see if you need x ray and ultrasound at exotic vet.

Sending good thoughts to you both! I know how frustrating it can be when it takes a while to see positive results. You're doing such a great job, though!

Thanks so much.
Of course we would have never come that far without you in the first place and dog vets-our exotic vet is surely very skilled(we havent seen him in a while!), but dog(classic) vets are loyal and always willing to help, do analysis and give us medications even without seeing pig so they re equally as important to us :)!! And our dog vet had guinea pig, rabbit, hamesters and gebrils herself so she knows her stuff, anyway..:)

Will report urinary results to you on 7.7 alongside state of her legs and uri simptoms.

And whatever age she reaches..i think its really a lot and i mean it that she got herself together and is able to enjoy life after such a heavy life and completely shock of changing home when she came to us.

Sorry that Winnie is having problems. Surprising that bactrim isn't working. How many times in the past has she been on it? Maybe Orbax, which is a derivative of bactrim (or baytril, I can't remember which) will work. Several of my pigs have been on orbax for soft tissue infections and it's worked pretty well.

Thank you for your reply!

For me its not ev en suprising since with my pigs we have more AB not working than working..i know bad luck or whatever, but its a lot of times with pigs and bacterial infections..Irie had worse urinary results when he finnished bactrim than when he started and he s been on it twice in 9 years only.

Anyway, Win did try it for the first time(bactrim)..We did try marbofloxacin..same class as orbax? It only worked a bit.than it stopped..

We have few issues, but we try to have fun and handle it so..thank you again..
We re trying shilintong and added water w benebac and vit C. She likes the mix. So..we will report results on around 7.7. at least with urinary infection analysis dont lie and you got cristal clear result how much better or worse really is.

And i wish your pig good health and bestest times..

Our urine still dont look quite right sometimes as frustrating this might be. At least it looks okay most of the time..

RESULTS TO COME
Urine check on dog clinic 8.7:
becterias:
leucocytes:
blood-erytrocites:

And than we will decide further if we contact exotic vet(we have about 4 options only here in Slovenia, with experienced vets, we will see who is prepared to help us, anyway) for x-ray and ultrasound.
I am bit at loss, there is no indication for stone-such as sand in urine..and i doubt its something more serious too-i hope not.
It does seem infection(or not even that much of infection)better put mild infection that doesnt go away..results were bad severly..but now lately is always be semi-alright with middle baccterias..so..
We will see if TMS and than shilintong did something good at least or nothing.

Legs(Hind) are quite alright..bit of reddish only.

URI symptoms: in the middle of our range of good and bad..in the middle..its not mild, its bit more audiable. Azythromicyn is still waiting..only
i wait cause i realize if its not that severe..maybe we will need it in autmn and winter when thoose kind of things got worse so we dont wanna use it too fast.. Cause its not completely working, but it is a lot so..we have to be carefull.

We lost some weight, but we gained it back(decreased apetite cause of TMS i think)...otherwise feeling good.

Greetings to you all will report results next week..
