Can your vet give you the liquid suspension of SMZ (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) vs. the tablet? If so, it will be a little easier to make sure she is getting an accurate dose. If not, just be sure to shake well.

We have bad news..
Wins urine is orange red again for last two days..
And on top of that i feel sick myself..i have sore troat ..some virus i think,..so i kept as much away from Win as i could..but i still have to take care of her so i wear masks.normal ones for surgeons, but i put on two.. i am worried she ll get something and i only wish i will get well soon..
i also took things for troat to get it in normal state and i still have to work..
So..
Dog vet(who also owned g pigs, rabbits, gebrils, hamsters and other exotic pets) was really kind and we got two 480mg tablets of bactrim..SMZ.
We will also take added water, vit c, benebac and shilintong..maybe not at the same time as bactrim as i did w Irie that it wont be too much, but after..however we hope bacteria level in urine will be 0 in two or three weeks.
Vet couldnt belive Irie had so many bacterias in urine after shilintong and water (marbocyl helped him a little same as Win, bactrim didnt help AT ALL!!!) and after water+shilintong for 14 days he didnt have any bacterias in urine(and even normal urine has some as far as i know:p;)).
However, i hope bactrim will help Win and shilintong ..however she s bussy with urinary stuff for next 14-21 days at least and i am sorry..we will start calmly but agressivly -planeed treatment. so.. hope this bacterial shit excuse us will finally clear.
We cant wait too long, but maybe day or two i hope i ll be fit enough myself to eb able to put my head near her-yes how beautiful is taking care of piggies you cant even get sick yourself, lol..i am kidding, but its true in a way isnt it;):)..i love them anyway..
And Win is one brave active cool girl to fit in with us the way she did after such a hard beginin and life she lived before..its just this bacterias wont let us have peace..but we wont leave them alone either..!
So, we have uti treatment and than urine check..if after 3 weeks wont be 0 bacteria and blood, we will go to exotic vet..
URI sounds are currently audiable more..somewhere in the middle..it was better, yes, but it was worse, too..so..but it hear it more..
