Thanks for the good wishes. This came on so sudden. She’s doesn’t want to take any more CC or water. I’ve got her wrapped in a blanket on my lap to keep her warm, but there’s just not much more I can do.

Oh no:(.
Hope you somehow got some food into her and make it through to go to vet tomorrow..

I got a little food in her and some water. I try to get a few syringes of food and water every hour, but she’s not cooperating. I’ve got her on a warm pad because I read their body temp can drop when they’re ill and not eating. So I’m doing what I can. I sure wish I knew what happened that she got so sick so fast.

Unfortunately she passed away. I was holding her wrapped in a blanket on a warm pad and she just stretched a few times and was gone. I just went through this 3 years ago when I lost Gidget, and it’s getting to be too much.

Thank you for the encouragement.

I m crying and we re beyond upset.
Dear Millie, extraordinary friend of ours, fly free in infinity, queen girl. Live forever. God bless her soul. You gave her everything she ever dreamed for.
Even if she was treated it wouldnt help so fast i think. Just that she didnt suffer.

Thank you so much. I tried to take good care of her. You are right about treatment. She was not wanting food last night and this morning. If they don’t want to swallow, there’s really not much a vet can do. Just keep them warm and sub-q fluids.

I gave her Metacam yesterday in case she had pain. The vet once told me that sometimes they have pain and won’t eat, so I had a prescription here from a previous time when she was kind of bloaty.

So I spent the day cleaning, moving one cage and storing the other. I’m going to sort through bedding next and donate some to our Humane Society. I’ve sewn so many cage pads I really need to pare down - I’m out of storage space.

Sorry to hear this looks like something more. Hope your vet can turn her around quickly. At least she is in your experienced hands.

Oh ItsaZoo, I am so sorry! I had not been on GL for a few days, and was so shocked and saddened to see this just now. My sincere condolences to you. You take such good care of your babies, and I'm positive that you did everything you possibly could for her. As you said, once they no longer want to chew and swallow, there is only so much any of us can do (I have been in that situation myself too many times).

Please take good care.

Thank you, Sef. She was a sweet little soul and I’m so sad she’s gone. I take such good care of these little babes, I don’t understand why they don’t have longer lives. She had just turned 3 in January, if the adoption info is correct. And little Gidget was only 2 when I lost her.

I know you have experienced this many times, and I appreciate the condolences.

I missed the additional posts on the next page and did not realize she was gone.

I am so terribly sorry you lost her. You are such a caring and wonderful person - I know she was greatly loved and could not have been in a better home than yours. You have all my sympathy. I am so, so sorry.

Thank you so much. I just wish I could have done more for her. I suspect there was a digestive issue. She had a few episodes of puffy belly and not wanting hay. I’d start CC, probiotic and corn husks. Then she’d turn around and go on a hay-eating binge. Anyway, I appreciate the condolences.
