I couldn't agree more. I think your guinea pigs were fortunate to have found their way to you.

Gilligan and Skipper in the pen. Gilligan isn't quite 100% and I think Skipper knows it. He's usually getting into Gilligan's face, but since he got sick, Skipper now spends a lot of time laying with his brother and seemingly comforting him. These two are the closest pair I have. They don't like to be separated for very long.

A tribute to my little golden boy, Gilligan. Every once in awhile a special pet comes along. Sometimes there are more than one. Gilligan was just that. His golden color was the most beautiful of all my piggies. It's beauty was rivaled only by it's softness. Not only that, he was the sweetest boy. Never once did he get upset about having to be given medication or treatment. The vets who saw him both here and in Reno were amazed at how easily they could poke and prod during examination. He was that sweet.

He loved being cuddled and he also loved to climb up and sit on my shoulder like the angel he was. His wheek could be heard through the whole house and his quiet, content squeaks could soothe everything. Some of his best attributes have rubbed off on his cage mate, Skipper. They were the closest pair I had. Skipper is showing some signs of minor depression, but he's still eating the same. He is spending most of his time in the tunnel where Gilligan laid. I'm giving him all of the extra love and attention I can and I'm sure we'll get through it together. Our lives have been left with a huge void with his departure to the rainbow bridge. Rest well, baby boy until we see each other again.

Here is the first photo I took of Gilligan with Skipper when I adopted them with Oreo. I remember that he was missexed by the humane society, so we thought he was a female. He was always a good eater, right up to the day he passed.

I mentioned how he loved to sit on my shoulder. Here's the proof. He used to give me guinea pig kisses and do the soft content squeaks from up there.

Nothing is cuter than a guinea pig in a hammock and no guinea pig in a hammock is cuter than Gilligan. It's too bad he and Skipper didn't agree on who should have which hammock and I had to remove them. That's ok because he loved the tunnels just as much.

He and Skipper were slow to get used to the outside grazing experience, but once they got over the fear, they were champion grazers. This is my favorite photo of them outside. The way the setting sun lights up Gilligan's ginger coat is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

That is a beautiful tribute to a handsome loved boy! You truly have the magical way with words because again I have tears running down my face. I felt I knew him. I love the picture of him on your shoulder with his little leg sticking out. He looks like he was born to live up there! RIP Gilligan watch over Skipper and your human slave. You were so loved and had a wonderful life! Popcorn with all the other angels! A lovely tribute! 💐

Yes, what a special guy he was - and so thoroughly loved. And such a handsome little guinea pig.

Skipper has perked up and is back to his bubbly self. I put a wadded piece of paper and put it in the pen with him while I changed his bedding. He went right to chewing it out tossing it around. He even popcorned when I gave him his pellets. I am happy to see that. I think he's going to be ok. I was really worried about him because of how he got so depressed when I had him separated from Gilligan on the way here from Reno. He really is a sweet and lovable boy. He's almost 5 now, so I'm watching him even more closely after the loss of his lifelong partner and friend.
