Guinea pigs living in horrible conditions
Thank you very much for well wishes...
We have problems already with this woman who got pig..she said she wont tell us where she lives. Of course. I was gonna meet in the parking lot, but she doesnt want to.
So my sister suggested three big stores in this small city she s from and my sister as well where we can meet up..but for now we aint getting anywhere..but all things considered if all would be *okay* we wont even be into it. Not now, anyway..
We re suppose to meet on sunday..so..we will see ...

Well, my friends, i made a mistake today..
We picked up the piggy..Shes beautiful, front teeth okay, terrible afraid.
I havent even get myself togetherafter Irie broke on through...i am just honest. I made decission with her instead of my mind and price is here already.
However, pig doesnt want to eat..she hasnt eat for six ours. She is very very afraid. All my pigs went into eating straight away.
I tought giving her peace would be okay. It wasnt. She hasnt eaten still.
Some womans children werent taking care of her. She didnt wanna give us cage or accesories. All is new or from our other pigs.
I think it was too fast decission.
I even tought about pros and cons. And it was more cons. I am also happy for time i spend with my four pigs. And i kind of wanted quit, but it is
what it is, now.
I would rather get in the car and just take pig back..but they wont take her back.
I tried to force fed her. It goes really bad. She doesnt wanna swallow. Very weakly. I have to shake injection up and down in her mouth that
she swallows. But she pooped..so it must have gotten into her, some? I was bout to call vet but than she pooped. I wanted to bring her in to vets so they would force fed her, but than we somehow succed- We need to be on the floor
cause she s crazy terrified jumping up and down.
I dont know if she will survive the night. Does any have any idea beside trying more with forcefeding..?
Hope anyone is on forum right now..i ll do my best. But its chaotic.. I think she s stressed and this will stress her even more.

For guinea pigs most dangers come from above, so put food and plenty of hay in a shelter so she can feel safe when eating, that might help her. A shelter can just be a towel draped over the top of the cage, or a piece of fleece she can hide under, or just a cardboard box she can hide under.
I don’t think I would try the forcefeeding again just yet, as she does sound super stressed. I would leave her be, with the hay and food in easy reach under some sort of overhead cover and hope she will start eating on her own. If she is super weak you can wet her pellets to soften them up for easier eating.

Thank you so much!! I gave her wooden house. I ll ad more hay..
I never experienced something like this with anybody of ours, i swear. Totally distraught and extremly sensitive..
We did some more forcefeding half an hour ago-she ate some, and poop some-all looks normal. I wont try too much is on three hours okay? She doesnt take that much, but does a little at least.

She did probably eat at her old owners house, even though the food might have been unsuitable for guinea pigs, so she is probably not starving. Here is a link to more information on handfeeding

She needs to eat hay to keep her teeth and tummy healthy, if she can reach the hay within the safety of her wooden house, chances are she will eat it, but you might not notice.

Thanks.. She s pooping a lot so you are right..she doesnt eat on her own still, tough..I moved her to other room now so i will hear her if she s eating hay, for now she doesnt..She s in the house.
I will do what i can do, now, we re into it and there is no turning back..for me it would be a lot if she survives and yeah i didnt realize it was that bad.
And it was obvious they bought her for children..and woman brought her in some little box. It was upsetting. And wierd. And now we re figthing to even get through..She didnt even ask anything..just say two words and drove off.
But i ve learned my lesson, again(..with previous pigs it was much more normal-and owners talked about them and all that. )
Now we took her as she hd unproper condition, but i think it would be better i would focus on me more than trying to do something that maybe
i wont be able, too.
And we didnt name her yet..thinking of Flossie, Angie, Cedella..or something...she doesnt have name.

I think it’s great that you’re giving her a chance. It may be a bit overwhelming to look at long term, so maybe take it a day at a time. It’s easier to manage day to day.
You’ve been through a lot, and you’ve gained lots of experience. I hope this little one gets strong and healthy in your care.
