Would he/she send it off somewhere for review?

She has and would post it on the VIN website if unsure of anything as she did previously with Jinx, Jaffa and Joy.

Jinx had ultrasound, pictures were taken and put on the VIN website. Had a few replies back and they all say all looks normal so where is the damn blood coming from? We have only 2 options left, wait and monitor how she is going or book her in for a spay. I am leading towards waiting but am baffled where the blood is coming from.

Again no stones or anything in bladder except pee. Some pee had dip stick put in it and it showed blood in it but where is it coming from? We are open to suggestions! My PC died so am stuck going to library, will try and come again tomorrow. Thanking anyone in advance!

So far have had blood, on Bactrim for 4 weeks no change, X-rays showed a stone, waited 2 weeks to see if she passed it, gave extra water via syringe. Day of stone removal, stone gone when X-rays taken, but still blood. Bladder infection more Bactrim for 7 days, infection gone blood still there. Change of diet all spinach and silverbeet removed. Just oak red and green lettuce, cos(romaine) lettuce, carrot, celery, cucumber and cherry tomato. But still blood. What is left to try? Anyone?

Probably a long-shot, but I think a couple of us already mentioned that romaine has been known to cause issues with some guinea pigs. I had a male a few years ago who cried and passed blood while being fed romaine. After I removed it from his diet, he was fine. That may not be the case here, but it's the only other thing I would want to rule out.

Did they test her urine pH while she was there?

Did they test her urine pH while she was there?

Dip stick showed PH was 9.0. Jewel's is 10 and Jill's is 8.0. Jay and Jersey not been tested. Will cut out Cos lettuce, but girls will not be happy with just Oak and Celery. Is Radicchio lettuce OK to add to their diet? Tried it once and they all liked it.

I think radicchio is okay. I no longer have it available here, but don't remember any issues with it when I fed it.

Every one of my pigs loved it and preferred it to any other vegetable.

Here are the different lettuces in Australia I know iceberg is a no no but had no idea watercress was a lettuce. Rocket they hate.

Iceberg: firm green head with crisp, unblemished leaves.
Butter crunch: soft, buttery and loosely-packed leaves.
Mignonette: soft maroon-green head with unblemished, loosely packed leaves.
Cos: crisp, elongated leaves tightly wrapped.
Oakleaf: curly leaf-shaped red leaves.
Coral (Green or red): small with curly green-purplish leaves and slightly bitter taste.
Rocket: intense green colour and strong flavour.
Chicory: outer leaves are green and bitter; pale inner leaves are tender and mild.
Radicchio: ruby red miniature leaf with a slightly bitter flavour.
Watercress: dark green, clover-like leaves with refreshing, peppery flavour.

Now I normal buy them mixed(red and green leaves) or symphony lettuce(red and green leaves). But noticed on GL veg chart green leaves higher in Calcium. Should I only give red leaf lettuces? Which would be Mignonette(red ones), Coral, and Radicchio lettuces, oh and red butter ones too? Thanks Sef and bpatters.

Butter lettuce (here also called Boston or bibb lettuce) is another good choice. I haven't heard of some of the others; they may go by another name here. You should be able to Google the other lettuces to look at calcium content.

Lynx -- do you know if that website from the FDA, with detailed nutritional info on just about everything, is still out there somewhere? I haven't been able to find it in years.

I may have mentioned this before, but cystitis? It won't show up on an xray. Can cause pain & blood in urine.

Vet could not feel anything and nothing showed up on X-rays or ultrasound. I could suggest cyst but she'll just say what I have said. Maybe hormone injections would help Jinx? She is not showing any other symptoms. Just blood and nothing else. Thanls Sef and bpatters.

Just asked my daughter, who is cystitis queen, for the lowdown. It's an inflammation of the lining of the bladder, so it can't be felt by examination, nor will it show up on xray. I think it's a diagnosis made by elimination. Not saying that's what it is.

Cystitis is just an inflammation of the bladder. I don't know the Latin derivative, but cysto- means relating to the urinary bladder. So cystitis means inflamation, cystocentesis means removal of urine by a syringe, cystotomy means surgery on the bladder, usually to remove stones.
