Any piggies needing a home in Kansas?
I haven't been here for quite awhile as we no longer have any piggies. Sad face. But some friends are thinking about adopting a couple of guinea pigs, and I told them to look at the human society or to see if anyone here has any before trying to buy at a pet store. We are in south central Kansas. They would need a cage and everything. I just wanted to see if there were any piggies close by that needed homes.

You might check Petfinder.com for any animal shelters or rescues in the area that might have guinea pigs available for adoption. The Guinea Lynx Care Guide has a lot of good information on housing, diet, etc., that your friends may find helpful:

I've seen several for free with cages and food included on craigslist, which really irks me. I'm tempted to get them every time I see them to make sure they don't fall into the wrong hands, but with 10 of my own guinea pigs, it really not feasible. Anyway, they can check it out in their area and if they find some, they'd be doing a great service.
