Dr. Rittle used to be at Bells Ferry Animal Hospital. We have seen her as
both a primary vet and as backup to Dr. Ahearn.

She is well skilled with guinea pigs, and open to listening to owner input,
questions, concerns, and up-to-date care methods. She is an excellent
surgeon, and is willing to try things, with owner consent, if it comes to
saving a pig's life that other vets may shy away from or refer out for,
wasting precious time. She saved the life of one of our males with a
bladder stone adhesed to the urethral wall by creating a temporary
    alternative channel for urine.

This practice is owned by Dr. Duffy Jones, who also used to be at Bells
Ferry. Dr. Jones was one of the very first vets we ever saw to even be
willing to consider heart conditions in cavies, and did an echocardiogram
on one of our pigs in 2001 or 2002.

My pig was extremely ill with blood in stool and completely dehydrated, he recovered in about 3 days with Dr. Houston's help. She is very dedicated and passionate about animals and takes them in immediately. Prices are very reasonable.

I have not seen this vet personally but have had a lengthy conversation with her on the phone and am impressed by her knowledge of our furry friends. She has been treating guinea pigs for 20 years and is still not afraid to learn more, indeed WANTS to learn more. She has successfully treated heart pigs. The practice does not have an ultrasound machine. They will refer out for that if needed for any diagnosis. I believe this is a good choice for any guinea pig owners south of Atlanta.

That's just what I KNOW she's done. She is gifted and capable.
