Meet Barley, our cute but socially inept guinea pig

After watching the shelters and Craigslist for the past week, we found a pig currently known as Lenny. The owner who was rehoming him found him through Craigslist in hopes he'd be a good buddy for her pig, Lucy, but upon discovering that the pig did not have the right equipment to be a Lilly, she decided to try to find a new home for him. He's about nine months old and VERY talkative.

I'm trying to figure out how to describe his color. Can you be a tortoiseshell white guinea pig if one of the colors is cream?

He's a healthy little guy. We're giving him some adjustment time before doing an introduction because, well, once he meets Barley, he'll never know peace and quiet again.

Cute!

Nope, he's a Broken Color. Cream/Black/White. I had a crested that was this color ages ago. Such a pretty combination.

TSW is ONLY red/black/white. Contrary to what some sites post.

What a handsome guy!

I have never heard of this condition, TWP (polycystic tubular dilation). But I often find necropsies to be helpful in trying to determine what was wrong.

Oh my goodness, he is handsome! I love his coloring.

Congrats on the new boy, and fingers crossed that he and Barley really hit it off. :)

So far, so good on introducing Barley and Lenny. Barley is clearly puzzled because Lenny isn't interested in being the dominant pig, which means he's the dominant pig, and I don't think he feels ready for a management position yet.

Pictures coming soon.

Yay! Nothing makes my day like successful pairings.

Hearing of successful boar pairings is definitely one of those 'glow' moments.

So, pictures? *cough*
