Mommy, where do pet store pigs come from?

Made the mistake of stopping by a Petco today. There was a boar, strutting his stuff in a bin full of much younger females. Told the dubious, overworked staff person that it was either a boy or a girl with something very wrong. She wasn´t hostile, at least, but not concerned either. She watched while I showed her his (ridiculously obvious) bit and cleaned the crud out of his bum (my first attempt, but certainly read about it often enough on the piggie boards). She said they don´t guarantee that pigs aren´t pregnangt, but they will take the pig or pigs back if so. So that´s another place that pet store pigs come from. I felt sick all day from this experience.
