Help! - nosebleed in guinea pig
My children and I had just gotten Squeaky and Tiny out for their floor time and were giving them a bit of grass before we let them run around in the family room when my son and I noticed that Squeaky had a drop of blood under his left nostril. When we noticed this Squeaky and Tiny hadn´t been together so I know that Squeaky hadn´t been injured by Tiny. We wiped the drop of blood off with a tissue and it doesn´t seem to be bleeding anymore. I don´t know if he might have hurt himself in his cage or if there is something else wrong.
Squeaky is acting normally. He ate the hay in his hay rack, some pellets, drinking his water, pooping and peeing. The cage has recent poops and pee in it as I just did a spot cleaning this morning. Right now he´s running around the family room with my children after eating all of his grass. We´re getting ready to feed him his veggies so I´m going to watch him closely to check his appetite.
I searched both the guinealynx site and Peter Gurney´s site and couldn´t find anything on nosebleeds in guinea pigs. Should I contact the vet?

An update:
When we gave Squeaky his veggies tonight (kale, romaine, green pepper, also a fruit - some peaches) he eagerly began eating. There is no more blood drops but it still appears sort of reddish around his nostril. I can´t tell if it´s from inside the nostril or a scrape under his nostril. When I used the tissue to wipe his nostril he kept trying to bite at the tissue and it was difficult to get him still enough to get a good look. I´m going to keep a close eye on him this evening and try to get a better look.

After I read your replies I went to check on Squeaky again before typing my own reply. His nose now seems fine and there is no trace at all of any read in his nostril or underneath it. Hopefully it was an isolated incident but I´ll still watch him closely over the next couple of days. Thanks for your replies!
