It is a nice compendium of facts that might help people who have not been following this closely the background and chronology. Not as biting and humorous as the comedy show take downs - and much more compact than Rachel Maddow.

Eichenwald makes clear that Russia's hacking is an act of war. To ignore this act of war is the aid and abet the perpetrators.

"We're talking about a situation seems like nobody understands what happened --certainly not Fox News. We had, we were subject to an act of war. This was not some little computer problem. This act of war has been done by Russia against England, the Netherlands, it has been done against Italy, it has been done against France.

Seems to me you posted a link to Daily Kos many months ago - in the late fall? - which was the first I'd heard about the Russia connection.

Everything that has been happening needs to be seen within this context:

Russia Is Supporting White Nationalist Groups Here & in Europe

Russia wants the European Union and NATO to fall apart and for Europe and America to devolve into divided, hostile, nationalistic, identity countries. The EU, NATO, and American/European alliances are counterbalances to Russian power. The lack of unity and coherence in Europe would weaken it against Russia. Likewise, if the US is taken over by Nationalists who are anti-globalists, anti-EU, and anti-Nato, this weakens US global power and US power over Russia. Russia also wants to weaken the US by causing dissension, disunity, and chaos in the US. The more divided we are and the more distracted we are by the problems we have to attend to at home, the weaker we are against Russia and the Russian activities around the world. If the US and Europe are weakened globally, Russia can rise again in power.

Russia's been doing this for a long time but they've never been so bold. They're pros at it. With everything going on we have to keep in mind that chaos and division within our country is their goal. And we've been played big time in this election & its aftermath.


The counter protest in Boston has been estimated at 40,000.

I agree with the observations I would add the US made mistakes when the USSR fell apart. Reagan wanted to gloat, wanted to yell from the highest mountain the US won the cold war, and for way too long a period. We made demands we shouldn't have made because we could.

Boris Yeltsin came out of nowhere to fill a vacuum,. He wasn't the best person for the interests of the USSR's people. I'm no fan of the USSR or Russia, but we kind of kicked them when they were down. Putin believes in payback, among a host of other messed up things. Some of this could have been avoided. We never learn.

I read Donald jr. is defending his father against claims of racism with the old, "he even has friends who are black defense" I wish I would have been a reporter asking questions at that news conference. My question? Back in the day, did he and Bill Cosby go out on the town together?

Jr. claims Sr. has even taken photos with rappers. Rappers, mind you, what a hipster that Donald. I don't think that qualifies as a racist comment, but in the realm of prejudice?
