Now that Comey has testified, we have work to do. The republicons have been secretly working on this bill and expect to ram it through the senate.

Subir on Daily Kos cites Ben Wikler's excellent advice. ... ng-Trumpcare

If one of these Senators is your senator, start calling! Schedule a meeting with your concerns!

Lamar Alexander (TN)
Shelley Moore Capito (WV)
Bill Cassidy (SA)
Susan Collins (ME)
Bob Corker (TN)
Tom Cotton (AR)
Jeff Flake (AZ)
Cory Gardener (CO)
Lindsey Graham (SC)
Dean Heller (NV)
Lisa Murkowski (AK)
Rob Portman (OH)

I was copying the names from an image.

This is actually life or death for thousands upon thousands of people. These republicon's phones have cooled off lately. They need to burn off the hook!

When you call, ask to speak to the health legislative assistant. Their names and phone numbers can be found here, along with more of Ben's tweets (click on the upper part of the image to get more information):

The biggest problem in all of this is that the republicans are quickly pushing through all sorts of trash. We have so many terrible things that are happening that people will miss this. Or they'll miss the next thing. Or the next. Our way of life is being destroyed.

There was a huge push back with the house. This is being done behind closed doors. No Democrats are involved in it and won't know what is going on until it is on the table.

It has been pointed out that the likely changes will make health care unaffordable for many older people (55-65) who may put off care until they qualify for Medicare. That will make Medicare costs shoot up with all these sick people.

The changes will affect us all.

I hope you all have been following this and better yet, contacting your Senators. Dem Senators to support and encourage them to keep up the pressure, Repubs - to shame them.

The new program is wildly unpopular. Need to explain what's happening to someone who perhaps is using the ACA or health care at all? This will help:

Here's the simplest takedown of the Republican scheme to take away health care from millions ... rom-millions

p.s. I bristle when dems talk about this being mean to the poor (in some cases, pulling any medical care). This is going to affect us ALL. If you are doing well, your health insurance will change. The caps come back. Many other changes (see article above). For repubs who hate the poor, you are also shooting yourself in the foot (and will then have a pre-existing condition...).

I called my senator last week. Went to a small protest about this on a very busy intersection. So many people will be impacted by this.

Yeah, we need to pressure our senators. Call & let your opinion be heard. I've been told it's especially good to give a personal story if you have one or a story about someone you know.

Bookfan, may I ask if traffic was obstructed?

No, we stood on street corners - only 50 people & the corners could have accommodated more. We're mostly a bunch of bland suburbanites. We make a point of following the rules. The one time we had 300 come the police had blocked off a short part of the street ahead of time for the protesters.

We got a lot of thumbs ups & supporting honks. Occasionally people who drive by yell at us to get a job. Ha. We're mostly retired, stay-at-home moms and people with work schedules that aren't 9-5.

When I say street corners I mean sidewalks.

Ha ha! I'm a little slow on the uptake - just got it. I'm trying to imagine 66-year-old me in red spiked heels. Never happen - too much arthritis in my big toes.

Glad it was blocked.

Yay for Murkowski and Collins!

And got the T-shirt

It's back, though. Graham and some others are working on a new bill they think they can get passed. The only hope is that it's still too bad for Murkowski and Collins, because McCain is back in Arizona getting cancer treatment, and presumably can't swoop in to vote against it.

URGENT: There’s a new Obamacare repeal bill in the Senate. (Yes, AGAIN.) Call your Senators at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to save our healthcare.

It's like one of those horror stories where the monster never seems to die.

I hope it has a happy ending and the monster can eventually be killed!!
